- n batholith A large mass of deep-seated igneous rock which may be exposed by erosion. The texture is granitoid and the shape indefinite. Batholiths of granite may cover hundreds of square miles. Contrasted with laccolith, *bysmalith, *intruded sheet, etc. Also batholite, bathylite, and bathylith.
