    • n vison The name specifically given to the American mink by Brisson in 1756, and subsequently so used by most authors. The name was used absolutely by Buffon in 1765, and generically by J. E. Cray in 1843. As a generic name it is eqnivalent to Lutreola, and includes semi-aquatic species of Putorius, of which the European and American minks are the bestknown. As a specific term it is applicable only to the latter, Putorius (Lutreola)vison. See cut under mink.

Pictured (from left) are Trooper Joe Moran, Trooper II Thomas Ferrigno, Trooper I Brian Winne and Trooper Lance Visone, all members of the T.E.A.M.S.
Visone said he was concerned about proceeding as Gould 's lawyer because he did not know what she'd testify to and what affect the alleged misconduct would have on her.
"I'm in a horrible position because I don't know what they've done or what Mr O'Donnell has done," Visone told the judge.

In science:

In such a model, close to the critical point, we can variationally construct vison excitations, thus estimating the size of the vison gap and identifying the associated length scale (the vison size).
Vison excitations in near-critical quantum dimer models
We find that the vison gap closes at the transition point while the vison size diverges.
Vison excitations in near-critical quantum dimer models
The shape of the vison in this limit resembles vortices in typeII superconductors, with the vison size corresponding to the magnetic penetration length.
Vison excitations in near-critical quantum dimer models
In Section IV, we construct variational vison excitations near the critical point and discuss their properties.
