    • omnivora In mammalogy, the non-ruminant or omnivorous artiodactyl ungulate quadrupeds, as pigs and hippopotamuses; a division of Artiodactyla contrasting with Pecora or Ruminantia. They have the stomach imperfectly septate, the molar teeth tuberculiferous, and the lower canines differentiated, often developed as tusks. The odontoid process of the axis is conical. There are 4 families of living Omnivora, namely Hippopotamidæ, Phacochæridæ, Suidæ, and Dicotylidæ.
