ncheloneIn botany, a small genus of scrophulariaceous perennial plants, in which the corolla is inflated, arched, and nearly closed, so as to resemble the head of a tortoise, whence the name: related to Pentstemon. The species are natives of the United States, and the most common one, C. glabra, is occasionally cultivated and popularly known as snake-head or turtle-head.
