- thyrohyoid In anatomy, of or pertaining to the hyoid bone and the thyroid cartilage.
- n thyrohyoid A small muscle of man and some other animals, apparently a continuation of the ster-nothyroid, arising from the thyroid cartilage of the larynx and inserted into the hyoid bone. Its action approximates the parts between which it extends. See cut under muscle.
