- n thielavia A genus of parasitic perisporiaceous fungi which have spherical brown perithecia without appendages or ostiole. The ascospores are unicellular and brown. Two forms of conidia are produced, one endogenous and the other borne in chains. The single species, T. basicola, is parasitic on the roots of various plants, especially legumes.
