    • n polypite The fundamental element in the structure of a polyp, as a hydrozoan or an actinozoan; an individual zoöid of a compound polyp; one of the individuals or persons which together fabricate and constitute a polyp-stock or polypary; a hydranth. The term is sometimes extended to the corresponding elements of a polyzoarium. or compound polyzoan, but these are more strictly called polypides. See cut under Athorybia.
