nplaneraA genus of plants of the order Urticaceæ and tribe Ulmeæ. It is characterized by the fruit, which is wingless, ovoid, nut-like, keeled, and roughened, thick and coriaceous or somewhat fleshy, and containing one cell and one seed. There is but one species, native of North America. See planer-tree.
