We have calculated the self-energy of the electrons and ﬁnd that it leads to a zerotemperature resistivity independent of the level separation ǫ: ρ(T = 0) = 3ni/4π(eν vF )2 , with ni the (dilute) impurity concentration, ν the density of states at the Fermi level, and vF the Fermi velocity.

The spin Hall effect as a probe of nonlinear spin fluctuations
The question then arises, what determines the density ni of the material which manages to resist incorporation into clouds and forms the ICM? Since ni ∼ ne ≫ nH I in the ICM, it seems likely that a key role is played by the interstellar magnetic ﬁeld, to which the ionised component of the ICM is locked.
