nhomarusA genus of long-tailed crustaceans or lobsters, belonging to the family Homaridæ. There are three species, II. americanus, vulgaris, and capensis, of North America, Europe, and Africa respectively. In spite of the large size and general appearance, the species of Homarus are related to the crawfish (Astacus and Cambarus), and are usually placed in Astacidæ, but differ in being marine.
