    • n harvest-home The time of gathering the harvest; the bringing home of the harvest; hence, any opportunity for making advantage or gain.
    • n harvest-home A festival held by the English peasantry in August in honor of the homing of the harvest. It was formerly observed by farm-laborers, servants, and the whole rural community, with universal merrymaking, feasting, songs and dances, and processions of oxen and horses with decorated carts and implements of husbandry. At present little remains of this custom but a supper.
