    • dimera A division of hemipterous insects in which the tarsi are two-jointed, as in the Aphididæ and Psyllidæ or plant-lice. The group was formerly a section of Homoptera; it corresponds to the modern group Phytuphthiria, excepting the Coccidæ or scale-insects, whose tarsi are one-jointed. Westwood, 1840.
