- n chordeiles A genus of American glabrirostral Caprimulginæ, having lone pointed wings which extend beyond the forked tail. The type is the long-winged goatsucker, night-hawk, bull-bat, or piramidig of the United States, C. virginianus or C. popetue. There are several other species, chiefly of the warmer parts of America.
