- n ceratostomella A genus of pyrenomycetous fungi having small globose, mostly superficial perithecia provided with slender elongate necks. The asci are ovoid and the spores one- celled and hyaline. The name refers to the resemblance of the neck of the perithecium to a horn. The species are saprophytic on timber. C. pilifera causes a blue color on lumber. See bluing, 4.
