- n boltonia A genus of plants of the family Asteraceæ. There are 4 or 5 species, natives of the United States. They are sometimes known as false camomile. They are tall, leafy, aster-like, glabrous and often glaucous perennial plants, blooming profusely in late summer and autumn, and are excellent for the hardy border. B. asteroides and B. latisquama are sometimes planted in gardens for their showy bloom.
