nbertholletiaA genus of Myrtaceæ, of which only one species, B. excelsa, is known. It is a tree of large dimensions, and forms vast forests on the banks of the Amazon, Rio Negro, and Orinoco. It grows to a height of 150 feet, and its stem is from 3 to 4 feet in diameter. The fruit is known as the Brazil-nut (which see).
